Join us to celebrate San Francisco’s inaugural Good Neighbor Week
Sep 28- Oct 4, 2025
It’s about time
Join your neighbors, the City of San Francisco, and many founding partners to celebrate the very first San Francisco Good Neighbor Week across our city’s wonderful neighborhoods.
September 28 is National Good Neighbor Day. President Jimmy Carter first proclaimed the day in 1978. Cities and states across the USA celebrate National Good Neighbor Day. 2025 will be the first year officially celebrating the holiday in San Francisco.
San Francisco Proclamation
Let’s celebrate San Francisco’s proclamation to make San Francisco Good Neighbor Week an official annual event in San Francisco.
Good Neighbor Awards
Our inaugural Good Neighbor Awards recognize our San Francisco neighbors who make uncompensated significant contributions to improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods. Nominations open in late summer 2025.

Do you wish you knew more of your actual neighbors, but not sure how to get started? We’re compiling resources for individuals who want to step up and be block leaders in their neighborhoods.
